Douglas Geiger

As both a first-generation college student and as a proud Loyola alumnus (PhD, 2010) with more than 25 years of professional experience in higher education, Doug is passionate about his work to facilitate student persistence and student success.
Throughout his career, Doug has worked with his teams to enhance and improve the student experience, in particular, for graduate students. As an undergraduate student (majoring in French with study abroad), Doug also developed a strong interest in international education. Doug serves as adjunct faculty in the Higher Education program (School of Education) at Loyola University Chicago.
Doug served as a past board member for several community organizations in both metropolitan Chicago and New York City. Doug and his husband Erik Decker (MS, 2010) reside in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. They are the proud uncles of ten nieces and nephews.
