Kimberly Boike

Adjunct Instructor of Accounting and Business Law


Kimberly (Kim) Boike is a business attorney with Chukah and Tecson who concentrates her practice in the healthcare and nonprofit fields. She currently serves as the leader of Chuhak & Tecson’s Healthcare and Nonprofit & Tax Exempt Organizations practice groups.

Kim advises healthcare entities of all sizes, including healthcare systems, hospitals, senior living providers, continuing care retirement communities, life plan communities, skilled nursing facilities, physicians, and healthcare technology companies. Her work focuses on regulatory concerns such as compliance with HIPAA from both a privacy and security perspective, fee splitting prohibitions, and other critical federal and state regulations.

With a strong background in healthcare regulatory compliance, Kim advises entities of all sizes on compliance with federal fraud and abuse laws and federal Stark Law. She works closely with clients to strategize and implement compliance policies, as well as to enhance her clients’ understanding of potential risk areas to avoid future compliance issues. Additionally, Kim engages with healthcare entrepreneurs on structuring new models for healthcare delivery such as direct primary care and utilization of telemedicine and also works closely with healthcare technology companies on a multitude of issues.

Kim was instrumental in the founding of Chuhak & Tecson’s Nonprofit & Mission-Based Organizations Practice Group. Recognizing that nonprofits face unique challenges, this group is dedicated to providing nonprofits with a full range of services designed to meet their needs.

She advises a variety of nonprofit organizations including hospital systems, senior living providers, FQHCs, early childhood education providers, institutions of higher education, and community foundations on a host of issues, such as tax-exempt financings, executive compensation and corporate reorganizations. She regularly presents to boards of directors on best governance practices and regulatory compliance issues.
