Christopher Benning

Adjunct Instructor of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management


Christopher Benning is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience in analytics and electronic health records (EHR). He grew up around computers, leading him to pursue degrees in Management of Information Systems and Finance at the University of Iowa.

His passion to build powerful analytic solutions that contribute to a more informed, fair, and inclusive healthcare environment has helped to advance health outcomes for communities. Over the past two decades, Chris has developed more than 100 analytics solutions that have helped to reduce readmission rates, improve clinical quality measures, increase patient outreach, and reduce inefficiencies in revenue cycle areas at large academic medical systems, specialty hospitals, and ambulatory clinics.

As the leader of data and analytics at Erie Family Health Centers, Chris focuses on a data and analytics strategy that supports the mission and vision of Erie, placing a strong emphasis on promoting data literacy and mitigating bias in analytic solutions. He applies his extensive experience to the unique needs of underserved communities by creating solutions that provide insights into healthcare operations and clinical quality measures.
