Wellness Program

The 2017 Wellness Program will feature financial, health and wellness opportunities on campus, including educational programs, walks/runs, and Blue Cross Blue Shield rewards to assist employees in leading a healthy lifestyles and financial wellness.
 
Financial, Health and Wellness Opportunities
  • Financial Planning
    • A number of EMERGE courses reflective of financial planning strategies are provided. See the "EMERGE" section below for additional information.
  • Health Maintenance Institute (see below)
    • Wellness points can be entered on the Health Maintenance Institute website to earn a $75 wellness reward in your paycheck
      • Wellness rewards are taxable income.
      • **Must be enrolled in Loyola’s health insurance to be eligible to earn a $75 wellness reward in your paycheck.
  • Fitness Program for the month of March
    • Join a fitness center and pay no enrollment fee during the month of March. Beginning March 1, Loyola Advantage Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois PPO members can join the Fitness Program and pay no enrollment fee.
      • To enroll, log in to Blue Access for Members (BAM) at bcbsil.com.
      • Remember to enter the code “ENROLL4FREE” in order to join for free before March 31, 2017.
    • Program activities may count towards the activities needed to earn points with the Wellness Program, which is available through the Health Maintenance Institute.
      • Registrants must track at least one minute of exercise to count as a participant.

For 2017, employees enrolled in Loyola’s health insurance have the opportunity to earn the quarterly $75 (taxable) reward in your paycheck:
 
To receive the quarterly reward you must:
  • Be enrolled in Loyola's health insurance plan
  • Register with the Health Maintenance Institute (HMI)
    • The site code is L773
  • You must earn 100 points each quarter from actions taken for good health
  • Wellness rewards are taxable income
Faculty and staff must login to the Health Maintenance Institute website and enter in completed activities to earn points for the quarterly wellness rewards.
 
The Fitness Program offers flexibility, convenience and ease for just one low monthly fee!
  • Members have access to more than 9,500 participating facilities so they can work out whether traveling, at home or at work.

  • Go to Blue Access for Members (BAM) and click on “Fitness Program” in the "Quick Links" menu to sign up or search our extensive network.
  • At the time of checkout, enter the coupon code to save $25.
Fitness Program Features
  • Online enrollment and tracking.
  • Automatic monthly payment withdrawal.
  • A free month of membership for referring qualifying new members.
  • No long-term contract. Pay only $25 per member per month.
  • Access to discounts through a nationwide Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) network of 40,000 health and well-being providers (I.E. massage therapists).

Participants can *earn points through a variety of actions taken below by Dec 18, 2017 in order to earn the quarterly $75 (taxable) reward in your paycheck:

  • Participate in a Wellness Challenge (i.e. Go Move Challenge) - 50 pts
  • Participate in a Wellness Event ( i.e. wellness presentations, and events through EMERGE, meditation class, healthy cooking demonstration.) –  20 pts
  • Participate in a Community Event - (i.e. 5K walking event, attending a wellness fair, Loyola sponsored community service, or serving at food pantry, etc.) – 20 pts
  • Receive a Preventive Exam (i.e. dental exam, eye exam, mammogram, etc.) – 10 pts
  • Complete E-Learning Lessons (www.myhmihealth.com) all found on the HMI website. – 10 pts
  • Healthy Activity (i.e. running, walking, yoga, dancing, weight lifting, etc.) – 5 pts per hour
  • Participate in a Financial Wellness program through Loyola University Chicago's *EMERGE program. -20 pts

All points earned in a *single quarter must be recorded on the Health Maintenance Institute website by the following dates below:
  • Quarter 1: Earn at least 100 points by March 31, 2017
  • Quarter 2: Earn at least 100 points by June 30, 2017
  • Quarter 3: Earn at least 100 points by September 30, 2017
  • Quarter 4: Earn at least 100 points by December 18, 2017
*Wellness Program participants are not allowed to add activities completed during a different quarter to the current quarter's point(s) total.
  • For example, if a participant takes part in a Wellness Challenge during February 2017 (worth 50 points), they cannot enter the Wellness Challenge information during the month of April 2017.
    • April 2017 is part of Quarter 2, which begins April 1, 2017 (thru June 30, 2017)

Receive preventive care services, such as:
  • Annual physicals
  • Immunizations
  • Breast exams/mammograms
  • Colonoscopy
  • Prostate exams
  • STI testing
  • Smoking cessation
  • Obesity screening and counseling
  • Pap smears
  • Domestic violence screening and counseling
  • Screenings for diabetes and other lab procedures
Preventive care services are covered at 100% when employees are enrolled in the Loyola Advantage PPO Plan and are covered 100% by the Loyola Advantage PPO Plan when using a network physician.
  • Please keep in mind that if any diagnoses are made during the wellness exam, the wellness exam is no longer covered at 100%
