Mission and Goals

Mission

Achieving College Excellence (ACE) is devoted to engaging motivated Scholars who are first-generation, high financial need, and/or have a documented disability as they discern meaning and find direction in their academic, personal, social, spiritual, and professional journeys.

As a TRIO Student Support Services program, ACE guides its Scholars to navigate the challenges of their unique, transformative post-secondary experience.  Through collective leadership, ACE staff work in partnership with scholars to create a community that emphasizes positive energy, self-confidence, humility, the pursuit of excellence, and the motivation to continuously strive to improve oneself.

ACE promotes reflection, connection, discernment, and action through utilizing one-on-one tutoring, holistic advising, mentorship programs, career development, cultural events & enrichment workshops, graduate & professional school guidance, and collaboration with campus partners. ACE empowers its Scholars to be life-long learners who are self-advocates, arbiters of justice, and leaders in their communities at Loyola University Chicago and beyond.
