Achieving College Excellence

Mission and Goals

Mission

Achieving College Excellence (ACE) is a federally-funded retention program designed to help students who identify as first-generation college-students and/or as having high financial need, as well as students with documented disabilities to succeed at Loyola University Chicago. Funded in part by a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s TRiO Student Support Services program, ACE provides academic, financial, co-curricular, mentoring, and career resources to eligible students from freshman to senior year.

Program Goals

As ACE Scholars progress through their academic career, from post-secondary to post-baccalaureate study, we provide the tools and strategies necessary for academic achievement, year-to-year persistence, college graduation, and enrollment in graduate and professional school. The ACE program offers a vibrant community of learning and engagement focused on transforming eligible undergraduate students into well-rounded scholars who are prepared not only to reach higher levels of education but also to serve their surrounding communities.
