About

Mirta Garcia joined the Institute of Pastoral Studies in July 2015 as the Administrative Assistant to the Office of Continuing Education. She has extensive administrative experience and is skilled in office and program management. She is passionate about her Catholic faith, Restorative Justice practice, and facilitating peace circle practice. She has a religious education background and fluency in Spanish. She is the community liaison between the Institute of Pastoral Studies, the Office of Continuing Education, and the Hispanic community.

Mirta earned a BA in Pastoral Leadership with honors, Magna Cum Laude, from the School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, Loyola University Chicago. Inducted as a member of the Theta Alpha chapter, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She volunteers as a Student Ambassador for SCPS, as a lector at her parish, and serves as the Regnum Christi Director for the Chicago locality.

Outside work, she enjoys outdoor running, plant-based vegan cooking, gardening, and spending time with her husband, three young adult children, and friends.
