Community Partner Profiles
Loyola's community partners educate, mentor, and provide students meaningful experiences throughout Chicago and beyond. Non-profits, government offices, and businesses want to be a part of shaping tomorrow's leaders. They host our students as interns, researchers, and service-learners, giving them insights into the social realities that affect each of us. Loyola students are invited to learn by doing.

Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program
Catholic Charities Resettlement Program is a very popular service learning opportunity offered to Loyola students. Catholic Charities’ Patrick Costanzo describes the partnership as a win for the agency because it increases volunteers and increases resources and funding. -

Enlace Chicago and Loyola Youth Violence Research
The research is being conducted in Little Village with focus groups including youth who age between 12 and 18. Through drawing maps of their neighborhoods and labeling aspects such as their homes, their friends’ houses, gang areas, and safe zones, the students are gaining an opportunity to share their opinions. -

St. Procopius
This beautiful church and school in Pilsen integrates the strong culture of its students and members into the religious practices. St. Procopius has a strong sense of who they are and where they come from, and while stepping into the neighborhood may meet you with a culture shock, you will be happy you decided to venture there. -

PAWS
PAWS aims to “build no kill communities” which place every animal in a home. They are working to change the manner in which animals are valued and treated. In 2012 5,606 animals got to go to their new homes thanks to PAWS and they are looking to continue to increase these numbers. -

Care for Real
Care For Real is an Edgewater based community organization that works to help local families in need by providing them with food, clothing, and referral services. The organization distributes almost 60,000 pounds of food each month and works hard to make the Edgewater neighborhood stronger. -

“The AIDS Foundation of Chicago is a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS” and seeks to improve the lives of those impacted by the epidemic. This great organization houses a variety of services and resources across the region and is a great place to work, intern, or volunteer. -

Chicago Coalition for the Homeless
The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) is an organization dedicated to eradicating homelessness in Chicago. They “organize and advocate to prevent and end homelessness, because [they] believe housing is a human right in a just society.” This wonderful program is the only non-profit in Illinois with this mission and takes great pride in its role and voice in the community. -

Inspired Youth
Inspired Youth is a Rogers Park, Edgewater, and Uptown community’s non-profit organization helping youth develop academically. Offering tutoring, piano and choir lessons, Inspired Youth focuses on improving reading and writing skills in elementary and high school students. From its humble beginnings as a church-sponsored program, Inspired Youth has grown tremendously and their strides have been met with plenty of awards and recognitions. -

Living Works
Living Works is an organization connected to Living Water Church that helps its communities and their children learn and grow. With a “commitment to anti-violence, anti-racism and ecumenical collaboration”, this program gives youth a place to expand their thinking, verbal, physical, and social skills through its Homework Help and Tutoring, Extra Curricular Activities, and Peacemakers programs. -

Rice Child and Family Center
The Rice Child + Family Center is focused on treating children with a goal of returning them to a loving family. The therapy services offered through the Rice Child + Family Center are round the clock and intensive. Highly trained therapists work with the children to correct negative behavior and reinforce positive social contact.
