January Term

January Term (J-Term) is a great way to catch up, stay on track, or graduate early.  You can earn credit towards a variety of Core and major classes in a condensed session during Winter Break.  Courses are primarily available online and give you the flexibility to make the most out of your break.

J-Term 2025 classes met for 9 days over a two-week period, from January 2, 2025, through January 11, 2025. Registration will open in the fall.  We recommend that students enroll before winter break to have access to Sakai prior to the beginning of their class.

Loyola Students

J-Term 2026 registration will begin this fall through LOCUS.

Visiting Students

January Term is the perfect time to take a Core course to catch up or get ahead. Check the listing of available Core courses offered.

Cancellations

J-Term classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment. Check your class in LOCUS to confirm that it will be offered.
