Chicago History Museum
“The Chicago History Museum cares for, showcases, and interprets millions of authentic pieces of Chicago and U.S. history.” If you are looking for a place to explore the past and connect to the future, this is the place to go!
Liam Grogan, a Loyola History Student, was lucky enough to be placed as an intern at the Museum. Over the course of his internship, he was in charge of social media outlets like Twitter and Tumblr and most notably, the Shoeless Joe Jackson feed. He said it was really great to get a sense of working in a museum and to be able to get into the backbone of such a massive and mindboggling place.
Archivist Peter Alter is in charge of the internship position that partners with the History Department. He has developed it into an ongoing semester-long position that looks for students coming from both Loyola and DePaul. The Museum is always looking for more applicants who are open to new things and have a passion for history at work.
