Violence Prevention and Advocacy Specialist

Sam is an advocate and violence prevention educator who joined the Wellness Center in May 2023. She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology with concentrations in women’s studies and health promotion from Frostburg State University. Sam received her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, where she interned with the Wellness Center for 2 years. After spending the last several years as a confidential advocate and prevention educator at Indiana University Bloomington, she is excited to be back. Sam enjoys helping college students identify and develop the types of relationships and experiences they want for themselvesAs a queer woman, Sam is also passionate about violence prevention and advocacy in the LGBTQIA+ community. When she is not at work, Sam enjoys exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods, walking along the lakefront, and spending time with friends.
