Andrea is a Graduate Student Counselor in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. Andrea received her undergraduate degree in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley. Before coming to Loyola, Andrea was a Crisis TextLine Counselor and, in various research settings, conducted neuropsychological assessments and clinical interviews with adolescents and adults experiencing depression and/or difficulties with substance use. At Loyola, her research interests focus on understanding the impact of trauma exposure among immigrant and Latinx youth and testing the effectiveness of trauma-informed, school-based interventions for immigrant and refugee youth in Chicago. Andrea is bilingual (Spanish/English) and passionate about working with Latino/a/x, LGBTQ+, and other minoritized populations. In her free time, Andrea enjoys watching movies, cooking, going to concerts, and exploring new cafes/restaurants with friends.
