A Message from Dean Emily Barman, PhD:

Welcome to the Graduate School at Loyola University Chicago! We invite you to explore how a graduate education at Loyola can challenge and revitalize you as you embark on a new phase of your academic pursuits.

For more than 90 years, the Graduate School has provided a rich environment for pursuing a wide array of programs in a broad-base of academic disciplines and interdisciplinary programs. About 1,500 graduate students are enrolled in 27 PhD programs, a professional doctorate program, 37 master's programs, 7 dual degree programs, and 16 advanced bachelor’s/master’s programs. These students work with more than 600 graduate faculty members on three campuses. We are a dynamic community of researchers and scholars unified in our commitment to providing high quality training, enhancing professional credentials, and fostering creativity.

Loyola upholds the Jesuit ideal of using knowledge in the service of society. In a numerous settings, our students engage in reflective practice, drawing upon what they have learned through rigorous training, they apply those skills to the dynamics of the challenges at hand, whether they be in a classroom, for a scholarly publication, or within an experiential setting.

Linking theory to practice, our students use their intellectual talents to improve the lives of others and meet the intellectual, social, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs of our global society.
