Loyola University Chicago

Student Academic Services

About Us

This opportunity offers students a leadership development program and comprehensive student support services for first-generation college students and/or limited income students for a cohort of students each year representing the diversity of our Loyola community. The program’s aim is to assist students in realizing their fullest potential, achieving their aspirations, and emerging as leaders in their communities.

This scholarship program will fully cover eight semesters (fall and spring) of tuition and fees as well as four semesters (fall and spring) of room and board for students’ first and second year. Our Leadership Scholars team will provide wrap-around support services to assist students in achieving their goals. These include:

  • Mentorship beyond a typical college counselor, connecting them to a dedicated academic advisor, career development advisor, tutoring, peer mentors, and others who can help support them in various aspects of their college journey.
  • A student cohort community that will help connect them to our campus community. The Leadership Scholars Program facilitates the development of community through social events, networking functions, and an opportunity to live together and take classes together during the first year.
  • Deep preparation for scholars to become ethically engaged, inquiry-driven, and diverse leaders of tomorrow in their communities and careers.

Our goal is to maximize the leadership potential of a select and diverse group of Loyola students through five key pillars of the program including:

  • Academic achievement
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Health and wellness
  • Meaningful opportunities for engagement
  • Career and personal fulfillment
