Statistics

Many majors at Loyola require a year of calculus; with the addition of just a few more courses you can earn a Statistics Minor. Majors in biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, and psychology are especially encouraged to consider this option, as well as pre-med students looking to distinguish themselves on medical school applications. Students will acquire knowledge of statistical techniques and methods, and the computational skills, such as R and SAS, to apply and implement these methods using real data. Students with statistical training are in high demand in industry in a wide array of fields such as medical research, technology companies, pharmaceuticals, insurance, finance, government, genetics, public health, sports, and epidemiology to name a few.
