Cost & Financial Aid


Program Cost for Fall 2017/Spring 2018: $15,285

Tuition is $12,600 and includes:

  • 12 to 19 credit hours

Comprehensive program fee is $2,385 and includes:

  • Furnished housing in shared rooms
  • Four academic excursions
  • Weekly group outings in Ho Chi Minh City
  • On-site program support

CISI International Emergency Insurance: $300


Not included:

  • Meals (approx. $10/day or $1,100 in total)
  • Round-trip airfare (approx. $1,000–1,400)
  • Required consular & visa fees (approx. $150) and other personal and incidental expenses

Financial Aid & Scholarships

ALL federal (non-work study), state and Loyola aid can be used towards the cost of the program. Visiting students need to work with home institutions to see what financial aid is available for studying at the Vietnam Center.

Students are also encouraged to apply for the Gilman scholarship, if eligible.


B.O.L.D. Award: Building Opportunities for Leadership through Diversity

The B.O.L.D. Award: Building Opportunities for Leadership through Diversity is a scholarship that aims to support students who have been historically underrepresented in study abroad, including but not limited to first-generation college students, students in STEM fields, ethnic minority students, and students with disabilities.

Ten B.O.L.D. scholarships in the amount of $3,500 will be granted to LUC students attending Loyola's Global Centers, beginning with the Spring 2018 term and each year thereafter.

Eligibility: Open to Loyola University Chicago students planning to study at the Vietnam Center for a semester or academic year. Must be able to demonstrate financial need (application on file with FAFSA) and be eligible to apply for the Vietnam Center with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Preference will be given to those students who meet the criteria for underrepresentation in study abroad, as described above.

Vietnam Scholarship

Need-based scholarships are available to Loyola University Chicago and visiting students who plan to study at the Vietnam Center. Awards range from $500 per semester to $2,500 per semester and are competitive.
