Engage with Empathy
The Division of Student Development (DSD) is pleased to announce, Engage with Empathy, a movement designed to continue to promote respectful conversations and a culture of connection for Loyola students.
The week of September 9 2024, this initiative will launch with events focusing on respectful campus discourse and community connection. This movement will continue throughout the academic year.
Here are upcoming ways you can get involved in September 2024:
- If you're a first-year student, sign up for a required Active Bystander Training class on UNIV 101
- Attend the Path to Polls: Obstacles to Voting roundtable discussion
- September 24 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Simpson MPR, LSC. RSVP on LUCommunity
- Take action during Good Samaritan Awareness Week and National Hazing Prevention Week
- September 23-27
- Stop by these tabling initiatives at LSC and WTC and stay connected with @luccircles on social for more information. No RSVP needed
- Join the Rise Module: Civic Engagement
- September 25 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Zoom. Learn about civic engagement with examples set by professional athletes. No RSVP needed
- Participate in a Share the Dream Training to support your undocumented community members
- September 30 from 4-6 p.m. on Zoom
We encourage you to amplify this within your communities—let's work together to build an even more inclusive Loyola.

- RSVP to join the Healthy Conflict Community Circle to build community, reflect, and discuss healthily navigating conflict in relationships
- Happened on September 11 from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Damen Den on the Lake Shore Campus
- Join a discussion on civil discourse at the Bridging Differences Through Dialogue event
- Happened on September 12 from 6-7 p.m. at the Damen Den on the Lake Shore Campus
