What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola? The Jesuit mission and values that provide a solid educational and spiritual foundation. As an alumna, the education I received at Loyola has served me well and been a source of strength and pride. It is very special to enter this new chapter of my professional life at the very campus where I obtained my degree and attended classes on the Water Tower Campus.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee? Two things immediately come to mind that I am proud to be a small part of from my Communications sphere of influence: 1- working alongside committed colleagues who worked diligently to move 3,400 academic sections in 9 days so that our students could successfully complete their Spring semester under the most extraordinary of circumstances; 2 – through my media relations work, setting and implementing a strategy and plan that shared Sister Jean’s March Madness prayer with the world. Our efforts generated more than 12 billion media impressions for Loyola and Sister Jean.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you? It is a reminder of the importance of being men and women for others and how our pursuit of knowledge can be of service to the world community through new ideas and innovative solutions.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day? I am fortunate to love what I do and to be in a dynamic profession where I learn something new each and every day. I am deeply grateful to work with my talented and fun colleagues within University Marketing and Communication (UMC) and across Loyola. Working with smart and dedicated professionals inspires me to work harder and creatively to help create deeper connections with our students, faculty and staff while enhancing Loyola’s brand and reputation.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride. As we work remotely and participate in various Zoom meetings, I will love surprising my colleagues by putting on my Maroon and Gold scarf. It immediately it triggers a joyful expression of delight on their faces and lifts spirits.
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you. During my last semester at Loyola, I hosted my own weekly, ethnic radio program at WEEF-FM now WPNA, for about a year. This experience helped instill confidence, tested my time management skills and helped me reaffirm my career path. I worked as an on-air host, produced and directed the show and solicited advertising. I have enormous respect for broadcast and print journalists working to create compelling content under deadline.
