What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola? There’s no doubt that the people are my favorite part of working at Loyola. Across every department I’ve worked in and interacted with, there is a collaborative attitude from both faculty and staff that pushes for the best outcome and experience for the student. Additionally, my Loyola colleagues are kind and loyal friends. As cliché as it sounds, I really do feel part of a family at Loyola.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee? I was very surprised and honored to receive the University Staff Council Rising Star Award in 2013.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you? As an Orthodox Christian, it’s important to me to seek God in my work and home life and I appreciate the opportunities to connect to my faith while at work.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day? I’m motivated knowing that I pay a small role in helping students attain their goal of becoming physicians.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride. I proudly wear maroon & gold whenever I can, but I feel the most Rambler pride on Match Day. This is the day our 4th year medical students discover their residency program match and where they will go after graduation to continue their medical training. It’s the culmination of nearly 4 years of hard work and students get to share the news with their loved ones. The energy in the room is electric.
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you. Although I don’t have any musical talent, I enjoy live music and have been to over 120 concerts.
