What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
I enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students. I feel a sense of accomplishment when they graduate from Loyola because I know that I’ve had a hand in helping them successfully navigate college.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
A few years ago, a graduate student told me that she chose to attend Loyola in large part because I remembered her first and last name when she came to Loyola for an interview. Her words were: “I felt as if I was more than just a number. You actually knew my name and that made me feel very special!” I’d like that statement to be true for all of our students.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
Loyola’s “commitment to excellence” is something I take very seriously. A good rule of thumb in doing this is to treat others the way you’d like to be treated. This attitude works every single time.
“Service that promotes justice” is a way of moving in the world in a generous, gentle, and mindful way. I think the most important task in our lives is to care for others and not expect anything in return.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
I want our students to have the absolute best experience that can be had in a university setting. If I can model behavior for them, then I am also “teaching” them a valuable lesson–giving back to a community and the world at large.
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I build custom computers as a hobby and am an avid reader! I enjoy both immensely!
