What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
Well, there is definitely not just one favorite thing. I love the creative freedom which my job allows and the trust my supervisors have in my abilities, the opportunity to collaborate with a new set of brilliant subject matter experts every eight weeks, and the unlimited possibilities for personal growth.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
Being a part of the team that organized the SCPS Centennial Celebration is my most memorable achievement. Seeing current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and former employees come together to reflect on the past, present, and future of adult education at Loyola was rewarding and unforgettable.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
The part of Loyola’s mission which has the most meaning for me is our commitment to a transformative education. We are not just here to dump facts into students’ heads, have them regurgitate those facts, and after four years, give students a pretty piece of paper with a gold seal on it. We are dedicated to changing lives and empowering students to go out and change the lives of others.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
Thanks yous from students and faculty! When I hear how I have helped someone understand a technology better or how I have helped make a course better, it motivates me to strive for excellence.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride.
I wear my Rambler mittens, tshirts, and polos. And I use my Rambler mouse pad, umbrella, book bag, note cards, pens, and pom poms. And I’m looking to buy a maroon and gold car if anyone is selling (just kidding!).
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I have four Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers – two of which are AKC champions and two of which have AKC hunting retriever titles. And yes, I do have two left feet and a busy bee just like the crazy dog people in the movie Best in Show.
