What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
The opportunities for personal and professional growth that can be found around every corner are what I really enjoy about working here. Whether it be taking an Emerge class, participating in the LUC & Me mentorship program, or volunteering for the Ignatian Service Projects, Loyola excels at creating an environment that fosters self-improvement.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
Over the summer, my co-workers and I hosted a “Transfer Advisory Board Meeting” on campus for our various community college partners. We invited a few students who transferred to Loyola to come and speak about their experiences with the process. One of the students whom I worked with the previous summer told us that transferring to Loyola University Chicago was the best decision of her life. She was so grateful for the opportunities Loyola offered her and the internship she secured through the Career Development Center. It was the greatest feeling to see her face light up when she talked about Loyola, and to hear her plans for the future.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
Personally, Loyola’s mission means to be a person for others. I want to help “prepare people to lead extraordinary lives” by setting them up for success from the start of the transfer application process and being there for them throughout every step of it.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
Hands down, the students. I am motivated every day to be the best transfer counselor I can possibly be. Transferring to a new school can be a very overwhelming process, so it is my goal to alleviate as much stress as possible to any prospective student that I interact with.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride.
I am always telling my friends and family members how great it is to work for Loyola University Chicago. Hopefully, when I go back to school for my MBA, Loyola will be my alma mater and I can finally be a true Rambler!
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I am the real “Usher.” I can out sing and dance that Usher Raymond guy.
