Graduate School Fellows 2024-2025

Arthur J. Schmitt Leadership Scholar Fellows 2024-2025

Each year the Graduate School awards a limited number of Arthur J. Schmitt Leadership Scholars Fellowships to PhD students who have demonstrated excellence in all aspects of graduate study and are in the final stage of doctoral work with support from the Arthur J Schmitt Foundation. The Arthur J. Schmitt Foundation supports graduate level study at several Catholic universities and the directors of the foundation work to fulfill the late Mr. Schmitt’s educational mission by stressing the importance of intellectual development and service to others. Given the importance of becoming future leaders who serve others, participation in a leadership exploration program during the year the fellowship is awarded.

Child and Family Research Fellows 2024-2025

The Child and Family Research Fellowships support students whose academic work focuses on child/family issues and enhances the development of research excellence in this area.

Samuel A. Attoh Graduate Diversity Fellows 2024-2025

Created in honor of Samuel A. Attoh, former Dean of The Graduate School, these fellowships are awarded to incoming graduate students nominated by their department. The fellowship provides stipend and scholarship support over nine months and a $500 annual professional development stipend.

Teaching Scholar Fellows 2024-2025

The Teaching Scholars program is designed to encourage advanced graduate students in their preparation as scholar-teachers by mentoring new graduate student teachers as a part of the Graduate

School’s Teaching Effectiveness Seminar. This fellowship is designed to help PhD students integrate teaching and research by developing effective communication skills, developing an identity as a teacher and scholar, developing mentorship skills and serving as mentors, and learning innovative ways to effectively enhance teaching.
