About

Jessica earned a PhD from the Department of Educational Administration, in the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) program at Michigan State University where she worked as a Coordinator of a Mentored Teaching Apprenticeship. In this role, she supervised graduate student teaching apprentices for four years and provided guidance on curriculum development, course design, and teaching methods for a leadership development class. During her doctoral studies, Jessica also worked at several teaching and learning centers and developed programs about course design, learning environments, and teaching strategies.

Most recently, Jessica worked as a Learning Designer at Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies where she partnered with instructors from a wide range of disciplines to design and revise online and blended courses. She also developed the School’s first online workshop on course design and spearheaded a number of other faculty development initiatives. As an Instructor in the School of Professional Studies, Jessica taught Introduction to Learning Theories, an online course in the Information Design Strategy masters program.

Jessica is also actively involved in the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education, a nationally recognized professional development organization focused on educational development, where she serves as a leader of the membership committee.
