The Committee on Graduate Programs in English is pleased to announce the outcome of the 2021 Stanley Clayes Memorial Essay Competition:
Abby Palmisano has been awarded first place for her essay, “Transmitting Auras: Imagining a New Teaching Edition of Medieval Literature,” written for ENGL 413: Textual Criticism with Dr. Marta Werner.
Brian Maloney was awarded honerable mention for his essay, “The Death of the Stage Irishman and the Birth of the Irish 'Rogue-Hero': The Irish Plays of Dion Boucicault, 1859-1874," written for ENGL 490: Topics in American Lit with Dr. Jack Kerkering.
A presentation of the selected essays and reception will be held Wednesday, November 10, at 3:30 in the Sister Jean Multipurpose Room of the Damen Student Center. RSVP is required.
