St. Ignatius Loyola once proclaimed, "Go forth and set the world on fire." While this is easier said than done, I firmly believe my Jesuit education at Loyola University Chicago has prepared me to "set the world on fire." More specifically, however, my experience within my leadership class, due to the engaged learning aspect, has allowed me to live out Loyola's mission and develop as a student and human being. The lessons I learned about identity, inclusion, and resilience in the classroom transformed my personal lens each week at my service site, Chicago HOPES for Kids. My intro to leadership class provided me with the resources, knowledge and service experience, to carry out Loyola's mission in my personal and civic development.
