Interning with the Cook County Department of Corrections (CCDOC) will reveal whether a career in corrections is what I want to pursue going forward. Loyola's message is all about applying what you learn on campus to the greater community around you. This opportunity has allowed me to observe how reentry programs are implemented and the challenges they face to be an effective tool in lowering recidivism. My best advice I could offer would be to follow your interests/passions and try to find opportunities in those areas.
