My name is Naveen Kanji and I'm a Senior Anthropology Major from Skokie, IL. I am continuing my research with the late 19th/early 20th century assemblage from the Hayes Point Dump (the location of our Lakeshore Campus!). More specifically, Dr. Amick and I are examining the population's perspective on public health concerns, common ailments, and healthcare practices through the medicinal glassware. We are uncovering a lot of eye-opening information and being able to understand healthcare practices from the past will undoubtedly be helpful in my future medical studies. I am so thankful to Dr. Amick for being my mentor for two years; I continuously learn from him and am so grateful to him for believing in my abilities and inspiring me to work hard everyday.
