Obtaining Research Experience

If you are interested in finding an opportunity to engage in research, we recommend starting the process by speaking with faculty in your major or field of interest. Research what kind of research your faculty are currently investigating and seek to build a relationship with them to learn more about the process of research and enquire about any possibility to work or volunteer in their labs.

Loyola also offers an independent research program you can explore and apply for through LUROP (Loyola Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program).

If you would like to expand your search to beyond Loyola, you can both use the following databases/compiled research opportunity links below, or seek out opportunities and internship programs through various local or national companies (for example: The Field Museum, Argonne National Lab, Takeda, Tesla Motors, etc.).
