Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2024: "I Have a Dream" Imagining Session

Join us at the upcoming “I Have a Dream” Imagining Sessions hosted by the Division of Student Development across all three campuses, open to all students, staff, and faculty! Together, we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s iconic speech and share our visions for the next 60 years. At the Damen Cinema, all Ramblers will have an opportunity to hear Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. For those who aren’t able to come to LSC, you can read the speech here.

Treats from Black-owned businesses and fellow dreamers await! Plus, every entry gives you a chance to win a book inspired by Dr. King's remarkable legacy. Come and go at any point within these tabling time frames across our three campuses to share your vision. If you’re unable to attend these sessions, please share your dream virtually here.

These events took place on the following dates in January 2024:

  • Lake Shore Campus – Tuesday, January 16, 11 am to 1 pm, Damen Student Center Atrium and Damen Cinema (optional speech viewing)

  • Health Science Campus – Wednesday, January 17, 11 am to 1 pm, Cuneo Center Atrium

  • Water Tower Campus – Thursday, January 18, 11 am to 1 pm, Schreiber Center Lobby

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the 60th anniversary of his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech, a collective of Loyola student leaders recited an excerpt of the speech. Watch below:
