Campus Ministry

Taize Pilgrimage

Campus Ministry holds Taizé Prayer during the fall and spring semesters every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. in Madonna della Strada Chapel.

The Prayer is filled with song, scripture and silent meditation. It is based on the Liturgy of the Hours evening prayer and is modeled on the style as practiced in the Taizé Community in France. The sanctuary is candlelit, the music is repetitive and chant-like. Those who attend regularly find a profound peace and tranquility in this style of prayer.

Over Spring Break, Campus Ministry sponsors a pilgrimage to the Taize community in France.

This year the pilgrimage will occur over Spring Break. We will depart on February 28, 2015 and return on March 8, 2015. Get info after Taizé Prayer on two Wednesdays: September 17 and September 24.

New Pilgrim (1st time attendee) cost is $1,000. Returning Pilgrims (Those who have gone on the Loyola Pilgrimage) cost is $1,500.

For more information about the Pilgrimage or to participate musically in weekly Taize, contact Steven Betancourt, Director of Music.
