Crime Alert - Hate-Speech Graffiti in Spring Hill Hall

Campus Safety is writing to notify you about a report involving hate-speech graffiti that was left near the door of a student’s room in Spring Hill Hall on the Lake Shore Campus. The graffiti was written sometime overnight between February 4 and 5.
At this time, we are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact Campus Safety at 773.508.SAFE or to share details via the University’s EthicsLine Reporting Hotline. Reports can be filed anonymously online and at 855.603.6988.
Loyola does not tolerate hate in any form or any manner on its campuses, and Campus Safety takes all reports of hate crimes seriously. Reports are thoroughly investigated, and we work with anyone who files a report to also contact the Chicago Police Department. For the legal definition of a hate crime, please visit our website.
If you feel that you have been the target of a hate crime, whether on- or off-campus, please notify Campus Safety or contact the EthicsLine immediately. As is the case with all crimes reported to our department, confidentiality is always respected.
Students who are seeking resources related to acts of violence or bias can contact the Wellness Center at 773.508.2530 or Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at 773.508.3909. Faculty and staff in need of resources are encouraged to utilize the University’s Employee Assistance Program.
