Crime Alert - Aggravated Battery Near Campus; Offender Apprehended

Loyola Community,

The Department of Campus Safety is writing to notify you about an aggravated battery incident that occurred in the 6400 block of North Sheridan Road at approximately 5:19 p.m. this evening. 

Preliminary information indicates that three non-Loyola-affiliated individuals were involved in an altercation on a CTA bus. The altercation eventually moved to the west sidewalk of Sheridan, and at some point one of the individuals was seriously injured with an unknown object.

Loyola’s police officers immediately responded and were able to apprehend the offender, who was arrested and turned over to the Chicago Police Department for processing. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

If anyone has information about the incident, please contact the Chicago Police Department via 9-1-1.
