When to Apply

Students applying for accelerated admission will be completing the application process during their junior year. See the timeline below for more details on steps you might take to complete this process.

  • Spring of Sophomore Year: Begin preparing for the LSAT 4-6 months ahead of your anticipated testing date. Meet with a pre-law advisor to discuss your goals and plans for the Accelerated Admission program.
  • Summer Between Sophomore and Junior Year: Continue preparing for the LSAT. You should plan to take the LSAT by October of junior year.
  • September: Meet with a pre-law advisor to discuss application components. Meet with your Academic Advisor to ensure you will meet the Eligibility Requirements by the end of junior year.
  • October: You should have completed the LSAT and received your score. You should be working on additional application components (see more in Applying to Law School) with the assistance of a pre-law advisor.
  • November & December: Complete your law school application components. By the end of this fall semester and at the time of application, you must have earned at least 80 credits toward your bachelor's degree.
  • January: The application process should be complete by early January. 
  • Spring of Junior Year: Wait to hear back from the School of Law's admissions office.
    • If you are admitted to the Accelerated Program: by the end of spring semester, you must have completed the criteria outlined in the Eligibility Requirements and at least 96 credit hours toward your bachelor's degree.
