Captain Dylan Wolber, Assistant Professor of Military Science

Captain Dylan Wolber

Captain Dylan Wolber was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and grew up in the Madison, Wisconsin area. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2016. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Ordnance Branch and subsequently completed the Ordnance Basic Officer Leader Course in 2017.

CPT Wolber's first duty station was at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington. He initially served as Maintenance Platoon Leader in HSC, 46th ASB, 16th CAB. He then served as a Company Executive Officer in A Co, 46th ASB, 16th CAB. After two years in the Brigade, he transferred to the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), where he served as a Maintenace Company Executive Officer in the Group Support Battalion. After one year, he deployed for one year to Iraq and Syria as a member of Special Operations Joint Task Force OIR, where he served as a Commander's Action Group Officer. After the deployment, he returned to 1st SFG (A) and served as the GSB Operations Officer for six months, prior to departing for the Logistics Officer Captain's Career Course (LOGCCC).

CPT Wolber graduated from LOGCCC in Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia in May 2022, and subsequently transferred to the 2nd Cavalry Regiment (2CR) in Vilseck, Germany. In 2CR, he served as a Troop Commander of Bravo Troop in the Regimental Support Squadron. After two years as a Troop Commander, he transferred to Chicago, where he now serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Loyola University Chicago.

CPT Wolber's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Operation Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2 OLCs), Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, and the Parachutist Badge.
