"The Envelope, Please..."

It’s a medical school “rite of passage.” Every year, on the third Friday of March, fourth-year medical students (M4s) learn their residency match.

The Stritch Class of 2024 will gather with family and friends and join the nearly 98,000 M4s throughout the U.S. who will open their envelopes at precisely 11 a.m. to learn where they will continue their medical training.

Even though our class entered Stritch during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was difficult, we’ve built a real sense of community at Loyola,” says M4 and Alpha Omega Alpha inductee Charlotte Adema. Being surrounded by a supportive community can be unique in medical school, but it is essential. Creating that sense of community is one of my priorities when I begin residency. I will build on lessons I learned at Stritch throughout residency and beyond,” she says.

A private, non-profit organization, the National Resident Matching Program® provides a fair and equitable platform for “matching” residency program directors’ preferences with those of medical school graduates. Learn where the Stritch Class of 2024 matched.
