With gratitude for the funding, organization, and support provided by Paulina Dzieza, Manager of the Language Resource Center, the Arabic minor program sponsored an interactive seminar by Dr. Sawsan Abbadi, to promote awareness about the month of Ramadan titled "The Holy trade: Gains and Losses". The event, held on March 19th, 2025, attracted a diverse group of attendees, including approximately 41 learners of Arabic language and literature, along with other guests from the campus community. While different faiths have their own unique observances, the seminar attempted to bridge the linguistic, religious, and humanitarian aspects of “fasting” in Islam and other traditions.
