About the speaker
Steve Dickerson
Steve is a Senior Advanced Analytics Leader and General Manager with nearly 25 years of experience in financial services, starting as an econometrician at American Express. He later joined Discover Financial Services as Senior Vice President and Chief Data Scientist. Steve excels in using data science, analytics, and modeling to achieve corporate strategic objectives while aligning with risk management standards. He has developed programs in regulatory areas like AML and credit underwriting, leveraging AI and ML, and actively collaborates with federal banking agencies. Steve promotes an analytic approach to business processes, including data management and model development, and has served on various governance committees. Born and raised in Arizona, he now resides in Chicago and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from The University of Arizona.
