Invite to Feast of St. Ignatius Mass and Picnic

On July 31, we celebrate the feast day of our patron St. Ignatius of Loyola. It is the University’s tradition to honor him by honoring you–the people who bring his mission and vision to life with your good work. In a spirit of gratitude and festivity, then, Human Resources, Mission Integration, and University Staff Council invite you to the Feast Day of Saint Ignatius Mass and Picnic 2023! To request roundtrip complimentary shuttle service from the Health Sciences or Water Tower campuses to the Lake Shore Campus, RSVP requests that include your campus departure location should be sent to hr-lsc@LUC.edu by Friday, July 7.

COVID-19 Loyola Medical Plan Provisions and End of Public Health Emergency

The federal government has announced that the Public Health Emergency (PHE) that has been in effect due to COVID-19 will end on May 11, 2023. Faculty and Staff enrolled in Loyola's medical plans are encouraged to review how the change impacts access to COVID-19 resources such testing kits, treatment, office visits, and vaccines.

LUC Recognized as one of Forbes’ Best Employers for Diversity in 2022

We are excited to share that Loyola University Chicago was recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for Diversity in 2022 among 500 companies nationwide. After Forbes surveyed 60,000 United States employers on criteria such as diversity engagement indicators and direct recommendations, the University was selected based on results.

LUC Recognized "As one of America’s Best Employers for Women in 2022."

University Chicago was recognized by Forbes as one of the America’s Best Employers for Women in 2022. 50,000 Americans that work in business organizations with 1,000+ employees were surveyed on criteria such as diversity & work environment factors (i.e., pay equity and parental leave). Afterwards, Forbes top 10 group included LUC as the only academic affiliate representing the education sector at #8 on the list.

First Stop Health

Mental health and wellbeing is important. Faculty and staff have access to First Stop Health’s (FSH) Virtual Counseling solution. This resource offers faculty and staff, and their family members 24/7 access to short-term, solution-focused counseling via app, web or phone. Plus, there is zero cost for faculty and staff, and their family members to access this care. Use the FSH mobile app, online dashboard, or call 888-691-7867 to request your counseling visit. Visits can be completed by phone or video.

Expanded Paid Parental Leave Effective January 1, 2023

Loyola University Chicago values human life at all stages. In addition to existing programs, to better support the early stages of life for faculty and staff with growing families, Loyola is introducing an expanded paid parental leave policy in 2023. This expanded benefit for 2023 was announced to the university community on October 7, 2022. Review the Paid Parental Leave Policy for more details about this expanded benefit.
