How to protect yourself from cyber hackers?

Scammers can do one of many things to get your credit card information:

Use these password guidelines

  • Use two-factor identification
  • Use combinations of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Add punctuation and numbers when possible.
  • Don’t autosave passwords on phones
  • Pick a phrase to use. Use it backwards.
  • Consider using a password manager

Watch what you download

  • Ask yourself ”Do I really need it?”
  • Do a Google search for any negative reports before you download an app.
  • Consider the source. Only download from reputable sites even if you’re downloading a popular app.
  • Make sure your virus checker is up to date and working. Always scan what you download.
  • Get recommendations from friends or trusted sources.
  • Don’t allow apps to gain GPS access or permissions until after you install them on your device.

Manage your identity online

  • Be aware your ID is already out there.
  • Go online and delete information about yourself or hire someone to do it. How?
  • Most banks have fraud detection and sometimes will buy fraudulent client cards or intercept fraud attacks And?
