School seeks Loyola Men of Color for Racial Reconciliation and Civic Project
Brother to Hermano, a project of Hayt Elementary School in Edgewater, seeks to overcome the racial divide that exists by bringing together middle school boys of various ethnic backgrounds to strengthen their understanding of other cultures and provide an opportunity to be proactive in the community. Through Brother to Hermano, these young men develop social and academic tools to mature into honorable and productive young men in their community who can think critically about the decisions they make. Loyola University men of color are invited to mentor Hayt students through a civic participation project, once each week on Fridays from September – May. Contact Jon Schmidt or Lillianna Franco for more information.
