Jorge Diaz

President-Elect

Why did you want to join the Loyola University Chicago Alumni Association Board of Directors and/or why have you continued for another term on the board?

I wanted to join the LUCAA Board of Directors because I have always loved Loyola, from the experience during my years as a student, to how it approaches education. I have enjoyed the last few years as a board member with an actively engaged and stable Alumni Relations team. I believe the best is in front of us in terms of increasing engagement and the impact of this board. I'd love to see our alumni base see lots of value in being connected through the association. I look forward to being able to continue serving as a member, as well as in a leadership capacity if/when those opportunities exist.

What is one of your favorite Loyola memories as a student and/or alum?

My favorite Loyola memory as a young alum is when I asked my wife to marry me in front of the Madonna Della Strada Chapel in 1994 (six months after graduating). We got married in 1996.

My favorite Loyola memory as a student is when I was President of LSGA (student government at that time) and was asked to do the student welcome at the new Loyola President's inauguration (Piderit).
