David J, Kupiec, JD, CPA

Immediate Past President

Why did you want to join the Loyola University Chicago Alumni Association Board of Directors and/or why have you continued for another term on the board?

I wanted to join the LUCAA Board of Directors because the National Alumni Advisory Board President, Harry Rosi, informed me that the Board needed alumni to assist in reconnecting Loyola alums with Loyola and the alumni base. Being on the LUCAA Board allows me to further assist Loyola in its ongoing efforts to reconnect and maintain relationships with its alumni, and assist with alumni and student mentoring/networking.

What is one of your favorite Loyola memories as a student and/or alum?

Some of my favorite Loyola memories as a student were the 1985 basketball Sweet 16 run, living on Lake Shore Campus and working part-time for Marty Lane in Alumni Relations. As an alum, it was watching my daughter, Sofie, graduate from Loyola and watching my daughter, Grace, attend Loyola. Other favorite alumni memories include interviewing potential Arrupe students, attending home basketball games for over 20 years, as well as traveling for basketball games with the Loyola community to St. Louis, NCAA games, and tours in Bahamas, SC, GA, and NY. I have also enjoyed being involved with the National Alumni Advisory Board and attending alumni events for the past 30+ years.
