Child, Family, and the State
Please note an important change to the schedule of class offerings. Child, Family, and the State, a required course for students seeking a ChildLaw certificate, will not be offered this upcoming Fall. Instead, it will be offered in Spring 2026.

Course Number 493 Adult Guardianship Project- Clinical Opportunity for WJD Students
The Adult Guardianship Project is a three-credit graded clinical course offered in the Spring and Fall semester that offers 711 license eligible students the opportunity to represent clients in need of legal guardianship of an adult family member. This course is fully remote and prioritizes the enrollment of WJD students. Student attorneys must attend all Zoom lectures, appear at Zoom court dates, and meet for weekly Zoom office hours to discuss casework.

2025 Illinois Judges Foundation’s Harold Sullivan Scholarship
Students who have commenced their law school education at an Illinois law school and who have at least one year remaining are eligible to compete for the scholarship, provided they meet other eligibility requirements. (Typically, this means current 1Ls and 2Ls.) The IJF expects to award at least one $5,000.00 scholarship to be applied toward law school tuition and fees.
