Mundelein College Collection
A centerpiece of the Women and Leadership Archives, the records of Mundelein College span its founding by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVMs) in 1930 through its affiliation with Loyola University Chicago in 1991. Mundelein was the first self-contained skyscraper college for women in the world and the last four-year women's college in Illinois at the time of its affiliation with Loyola.
The WLA houses a variety of materials from Mundelein College, including college records, oral histories, and photographs. The Mundelein College Record Groups lists the major record groups in the collection. The archives also house the Mundelein College Oral Histories. Visit the Women and Leadership Archives to use the Mundelein College records and oral histories.
Digitized materials, such as photographs, yearbooks, class photos, and The Skyscraper Newspaper, from the Mundelein College Collection are available online.
