Applying for Undergraduate Admission

Steps for Traditional Undergraduate Admission

If you never enrolled in college, you can apply as a traditional undergraduate student.  

  1. Check our deadlines. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Students must be admitted by February 1 to be eligible for a merit scholarship
  2. Submit the online application.
  3. Submit a personal statement or essay. After you certify and submit your basic application information, you will be able to upload a required writing sample directly to your application status/checklist page. You are invited to share more about yourself and why you want to be a part of the Loyola community. Or, feel free to share information about a significant leadership or service experience you may have had while in high school. You may also choose to submit a sample of your writing from a class or project. Please limit your response to 500 words or less.
  4. Ask your high school to send your official transcript. All freshmen are required to submit an official transcript from their secondary school. Please have them sent directly:

  5. Arrange to have your SAT/ACT scores sent to us. Loyola's SAT code is 1412 and our ACT code is 1064.
  6. Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor. You may send an email request from our online application, or download a recommendation form: Counselor Recommendation Form.
  7. Upon admission, pay your enrollment deposit by May 1 to reserve a place in the class.

Steps for Transfer Undergraduate Admission

You should apply as a transfer student if you have attended another college or university, even if you were only enrolled for one semester. 

  1. Check our deadlines. Applications are considered on a rolling basis and are reviewed on a space-available basis. For scholarship consideration please submit your application by June 1 for fall semester, and November 1 for spring semester.
  2. Submit the online application. There is no fee to apply.
  3. Send us official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. Transcripts can be sent directly to:
