Wellness Center
Loyola University Chicago is dedicated to promoting the physical, mental, and emotional wellness of all its students. The staff at the Wellness Center offers a variety of counseling and medical services to Loyola students.
Student Health Insurance is not covered by the VA unless the student has no other insurance (including but not limited to private or VA Healthcare). In order to use student health insurance, you must reach out to the office to have it included in billing. If you don't, you will be responsible for the charge. If you have health insurance through an employer, a private company, or the VA (i.e., you are a veteran and have opted into VA health care), you MUST waive out of LUC student health insurance by the Bursar's deadline. Please see the steps found here to do so.
Steps for Waiving out of LUC Student Healthcare:
- Log into LOCUS and select “Financial Account,” then “Student Health Insurance.”
- Select the “Waive out” button and submit your insurance information.
- Student veterans and active duty will enter the following:
- Veterans’ Health Insurance and xxx-xx-6789 [Last 4 of SSN].
- Students who don’t have VA healthcare but do have other healthcare, submit your policy information:

- The insurance fee will be credited to your student account within 48 hours. Please check the "Account Summary by Term" screen under "Financial Account" in LOCUS to see this credit.
Please view this tutorial on how to opt out of the health insurance if you require more assistance.
