Students in the Graduate programs at Quinlan School of Business (MBA, MS programs) are eligible for the summer U-Pass.

Internships or work study do not count toward U-Pass eligibility. You must take 6 undergraduate credit hours at the Watertower or Lakeshore Campus to qualify for U-Pass.

You must have all 6-summer credit hours at the Lakeshore and Watertower campuses to qualify for a summer U-Pass.

All qualifying students will be issued a U-Pass. For students who do not have an existing U-Pass issued by Loyola University, we will issue a new one to you during a U-Pass distribution at the Lakeshore Campus at the beginning for the summer term. This will occur approximately May 22, 23, and May 30, 2017.

You must meet the qualifications above to receive a U-Pass. The policies do not allow us to give them to students who do not qualify.

Unfortunately no. U-Pass is not an optional program.  ALL students in a qualifying academic program/school must pay for the pass. Individual schools/programs can choose, based on the need of their students, to participate in the program if they feel it would benefit the vast majority of their students.  CTA policies prevent individual students from non-qualifying programs from buying a pass.

All students that have an exisiting pass from another university, must have a new U-Pass created and issued from Loyola University Chicago. This can happen during our formal summer distribution process which will occur approximately May 22,23, and 30 2017.

Unfortunately, no.  The Chicago Transit Authority requires us to charge all eligible students in programs that are part of the U-Pass program. We are not allowed to have individual students opt out of the U-Pass.
