Community College Partnerships

You could be closer to a Loyola degree than you actually realize

Loyola has partnerships and agreements with many nearby colleges, including the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), to make it even easier for you to transfer. Our School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) also offer transfer guides for select majors. SCPS holds evening, weekend, and online course options for adult students, so visit its website for more on the program outlines.

In addition, special programs, transfer credits, and scholarships are available at certain local colleges.

Loyola and CCC have partnered to create pathways from the Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) degrees to select majors offered at Loyola. CCC students can follow these guidelines (semester-by-semester) to prepare them to transfer to a bachelor's degree program.

Beginning in Fall 2017, students who qualified for the Chicago Star Scholarship program at the City Colleges of Chicago and graduated with an AA or AS degree with a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA will receive a Chicago Star Scholarship from Loyola. The award is in the amount of $5,000 per year for each of the two years (full-time) that it would take on average to complete a bachelor's degree.

This Chicago Star Scholarship award would be in addition to a merit-based transfer scholarship. Loyola's merit-based awards range from $7,000-$16,000 per year. Also, chapter members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society at CCC can receive a $1,500 PTK scholarship award annually.

For more information, consult the Chicago Star Scholarship website.
