Tools and Resources for Transfer Students

As you go through the application process, take advantage of the tools and resources on this page. For additional help, feel free to contact our staff at transfer@LUC.edu.

Course Equivalency Look-Up Tools

You can use MyList, Loyola's web-based course equivalency look-up program, to determine if courses at your current institution are currently transferable to Loyola. Updated daily, MyList does not imply application or admission to Loyola University Chicago.

MyCreditsTransfer is a statewide initiative designed to make transferring easier within Illinois. Using the nationally available Transferology tool, you can find courses that transfer between institutions.

Mylist and Transferology are not all-inclusive. Courses that are not listed in Mylist or Transferology may still be transferrable to Loyola University Chicago.

Core Curriculum Guide for Transfer Students

The Core Curriculum consists of 16 required courses spread across 10 knowledge areas. These liberal arts education requirements apply to all undergraduate students and make up a significant part of a Loyola degree.

View the Core Curriculum Guide for Transfer Students (PDF) for guidelines on how transfer credit may satisfy these lower-division general education requirements, and make sure to look at the list of Loyola’s approved Core Curriculum courses.

Academic Requirement Outlines by Major

You may refer to Loyola’s Academic Degree Requirement Outlines to see curriculum requirements specific to a program or major. We also advise students to check our recommended courses page for additional information by program or major.

Students pursuing a business major are advised to check out the Quinlan School of Business Transfer Credit page.

Pre-Transfer Advising & Admission Counseling

We’re committed to helping you as you plan to transfer schools. Our trained staff is here to share information, guide you through the admission process, and answer your questions.

Prospective transfer students are encouraged to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a counselor to discuss and plan their transfer to Loyola. A transfer counselor can help you gain an additional understanding of Loyola curriculum requirements.
