TNT Visits Loyola!
On December 9th we welcomed 75 TNT freshmen from Kelly, Curie and Hubbard High School to Loyola for a campus visit. Our morning kicked off with fun ice breakers and then our Academic Coaches helped their students fill out a college application for the very first time. This activity gave each freshman the opportunity to experience the application process and to take useful information back home to share with his or her family for the future.
After working on college applications, students experienced TNT’s inaugural Mini-Student Organization Fair. We wanted our freshmen to be aware of the many different opportunities typically available on a college campus, and with over 230 organizations present at Loyola, we had plenty of resources to share! The eight organizations represented are those that TNT Coaches either belong to or have friends involved in. Our freshmen learned about what the different organizations do and how they could join groups similar to these in the future.
Next, students and coaches experienced Loyola’s campus through a scavenger hunt. Each team raced to solve clues that led them to different locations on campus and finally to the Damen Dining Hall for lunch. We ended the campus visit with a raffle to reward the freshmen for their hard work during the TNT study sessions. We gave away some awesome prizes including art sets, acoustic guitars and blue tooth speakers! The day was filled with positive energy and it was a great way to end the semester. The TNT team of Academic Coaches and staff is eager to be back with the freshmen in January!
